	Mars Science Laboratory
		NASA proposes to launch the Mars Science Laboratory by 2009 and use it demonstrate the technology for "smart landers" with accurate landing and hazard avoidance in order to reach what may be very promising but difficult-to-reach scientific sites.
		MSL will be five times larger than the Mars Exploration Rovers and will be the first spacecraft to land on its wheels.
		MSL is expected to operate for at least one Martian year, or roughly two Earth years.

	Space debut planned for Japanese tea - Everything Science
		With the cooperation of the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, NASDA is to announce details of the plan officially by 2004.
		Japan is in charge of developing a laboratory module called Kibo (Hope), which consists of a laboratory 11 meters long and four meters in diameter and a storage area four meters long and four meters in diameter.
		In the zero-gravity laboratory various plants will be grown and new drugs will be developed on an experimental basis, while materials necessary for experiments will be kept in storage, the officials said.
