Marsden is a small town in the county of West Yorkshire, England, 7 miles west of Huddersfield and located at the confluence of the Rivers Wessen and Colne.
Marsden is the last significant settlement on the West Yorkshire side of Standedge crossing of the Pennines into Lancashire.
Marsden was the birthplace of Henrietta Thompson, the mother of General James Wolfe who took Quebec from the French in 1759.

Marsden Moor was gifted to the National Trust in 1955 by Captain Sir Joseph Benedict Everard Henry Radcliffe in lieu of death duties for his father Sir Everard Henry Joseph Radcliffe of Ruddings Park, Harrogate.
Marden Moor almost entirely surrounds the village of Marsden, for centuries men, women and children of the village depended upon the estate for their livelihood.
The land consists mostly of common moorland and encompasses parts of the northern tip of the Peak District National Park together with valley's, rivers, lofty peaks and crags, a wealth of archaeological remains dating from pre-Roman to the Industrial Revolution.

An area of two square miles of moorland was destroyed by fire in Marsden, West Yorkshire, on Sunday 13 April.
Halifax Fire Station spokesman Craig Mallinson said they had brought the fire under control, but were still hoping for a change in the weather.
