Marshall began her career at Bryn Mawr in 1947 and stayed until 1970, when she was appointed dean of the faculty and vice chancellor at University of Massachusetts in Boston.
Marshall, a noted scholar of Hispanic literature and politics, served as a trustee at Smith College, her alma mater.
Marshall, a resident of Brookline, is survived by her husband, J. Nathaniel Marshall; a daughter, Molly Marshall of Hartford, and a son, Nick Marshall of Westfield.

Marshall suggested the role as a method of keeping the Nationalist regime from generating bad publicity in the United States.

Marshall's father owned a prosperous coal business in Pennsylvania, but the boy, deciding to become a soldier, enrolled at the Virginia Military Institute from which he was graduated in 1901 as senior first captain of the Corps of Cadets.
In July, 1938, Marshall accepted a post with the General Staff in Washington, D. C., and in September, 1939, was named chief of staff, with the rank of general, by President Roosevelt.

Marshall Drew, a survivor of the Titanic, died Friday at Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport, L. He was 82 years old and lived in Westerly, L. Mr.
Drew, who was born in Greenport, taught fine arts at Grover Cleveland High School in New York City far 36 years.
Drew, who was 8 at the time, was traveling on the Titanic with his aunt and uncle when the reputedly "unsinkable" ocean liner sank on its maiden voyage the night of April 14-l5, 1912, killing 1,513 people.

Not only did Montana fumble the ball away near the end of a game the Giants won by a narrow 15-13 margin, but the injuries Montana suffered, including back and sternum bruises, cracked ribs and a broken hand, effectively ended his 49er career.
