 Marshall Aerospace to upgrade Austrian Hercules
Marshall Aerospace has been awarded the contract to upgrade three C-130 Hercules aircraft for the Austrian Government.
As the three aircraft (XV-181, 291 and 292) were not intended to form part of the RAF's long-term fleet, they were not included in the same structural and avionics advances as the remaining RAF C-130K fleet as a result structural work and a systems upgrade is needed to extend their operational lives.
The first of the three aircraft was flown into Marshall Aerospace on Friday 17th May 2002 and the three aircraft back-to-back contract will produce the first completed aircraft on the 17th December 2002.
