Martin Olav Sabo (born February 28, 1938) is an American politician and member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (DFL) and the current United States Representative for Minnesota's Fifth Congressional District (map), which includes Minneapolis.
Sabo was born of Norwegian immigrant parents in Crosby, North Dakota and in 1959 received a B.A. from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, later pursuing graduate studies at the University of Minnesota.
His daughter, Julie Sabo, is a former member of the Minnesota Senate and was the 2002 Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party nominee for Lieutenant Governor.

Martin Olav Sabo was born in Crosby, North Dakota in 1938, the son of Norwegian immigrants.
Sabo, of Minneapolis, was elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 1960, only a year after graduating from Augsburg, and represented the 31st Legislative District and later (after redistricting) Districts 42 and (still later) 57B.
Sabo served as Democratic-Farmer-Labor Minority Leader in the House for the 1969 and 1971 sessions, and was Speaker of the House from 1973 to 1978.

Sabo, the top Democrat on the Homeland Security Subcommittee, offered an amendment to the Department of Homeland Security FY06 funding bill, requiring DHS to clarify "SSI" policy and procedure, including which staff may appropriately have designation authority.

Sabo said he is objecting now, a year after Safety Act certification was granted to the risk-assessment platform, because he only recently became aware that Lockheed Martin’s platform is generic and may be utilized in other government programs.
In the letter, Sabo requests that Chertoff and DHS Privacy Officer Nuala O’Connor Kelly “assess whether Safety Act protection should be afforded to technology that utilizes personal commercial data.” He also asked whether other Safety Act approvals are in the works for additional data-mining technologies.

It is interesting that you post the comment "Sabo-tage" because back in 1992 when I sought the GOP endorsement, which I didn't get, to run against Rep. Sabo I coined that phrase and it was used in the susequent campaign of the gentlemen that did get the GOP's endorsement.
Sabo and his cohorts would get Americans killed.
