Carl David Tolmé Runge (1856-1927) initiated RK methods in 1895, is also famous for his research in complex analysis, spectroscopy, approximation theory, and other fields of applied mathematics.
Wilhelm Martin Kutta (1867-1944) brought RK methods 1901 to a first perfection and became also famous for his later work in aerodynamics (jpeg files imported from the WWW pages of Tanja Van Hecke).

Martin Kutta realizó sus estudios universitarios en la ciudad polaca de Breslau, en el periodo comprendido entre los años 1885 y 1890.
Cabe señalar que Kutta desempeñó cargos en tres ciudades alemanas, a saber, Munich, Jena y Aachen; hasta que consiguió ostentar una cátedra de la Universidad de Stuttgart en el año 1911, donde permaneció hasta su jubilación veinticuatro años después.
Es digno de mención el hecho de que Runge diera a conocer los métodos de Kutta.

Der Privatdozent Martin Wilhelm Kutta, seit 1907,, gebührenfreier`` Extraordinarius für reine und angewandte Mathematik und mit Lehraufträgen betraut, wurde 1909 an die Universität Jena wegberufen.
Zwei an Finsterwalder ergangene Rufe nach Wien konnte Dyck abwehren und 1910 die Errichtung eines zusätzlich en Extraordinariats für Angewandte Mathematik erwirken, das bis 1920 Heinrich Liebmann und ab 1927 der aus Wien berufene Josef Lense (1890 -1985) innehatte.
Die Angewandte Mathematik wurde durch zwei Lehrstühle verstärkt: 1969 Martin Beckmann, dem 1992 Karl-Heinz Hoffmann folgte und 1971 Ernst Lammel, dem 1978 Karl-Walter Gaede folgte.

The latter is Martin, Robert S. Fascinatingly, I found a recent paper which enjoys _both_ these classifcations!
