The General Procurator's Office is ready to bring accusation against the former minister of communication and post Fridon Injia and his brother David Injia.
They are suspected of organizing mass disorders during the October 31 parliamentary elections in the Martvili region of Georgia and of liquidating the protocols of preliminary results of the elections at some polling precincts of the Martvili election district.
Currently he has been registered by the CEC as a majority candidate of the Martvili region where the second round of elections in majority system is to be held.

Although Mingrelian is still in use as a spoken language in almost all spheres of life by several hundred thousand persons, no books, newspapers or radio programs exist in that language.An overwhelming majority of the population is bilingual in Mingrelian and Georgian.
There exists no Mingrelian-Georgian dictionary, but one is being compiled by Gigi Eliava, director of the ethnographical museum of Martvili, in collaboration with Prof.
However, Akaki Shanidze and Korneli Danelia objected to this and the dictionary was thus restricted to the dialect of Zugdidi and intended for the use of linguists.

Tbilisi, 22nd August: The Central Electoral Commission has already released the funds required to organize and hold parliamentary elections in the single-seat constituencies of Keda and Martvili on 8th October.
The Martvili constituency has refused registration to independent candidates Vazha Abakelia and Guram Absandze.
The latter is in prison awaiting trial on charges of organizing a terrorist attack on President Eduard Shevardnadze.
