Marty met Jason Becker before any contracts were signed and was so impressed by the then sixteen year old's guitar playing that he asked Jason to join him in a band which was later called Cacophony.
Marty never tended to use effects such as delay, and the confusion is purely created through unbelievable harmonising of guitars.
I feel that Marty is a genius like no other guitarist in the respects that he is capable of doing such amazing harmonies, but even Marty only recorded a few such sections, (all in the 1987 to 1988 albums), due to the obvious level of commitment and difficulty in getting it to sound right.

Credo che a questa domanda risponderebbero in pochi, almeno tra i cultori del Metal in generale, visto che qua stiamo parlando di uno dei chitarristi più influenti usciti dalla seconda metà degli anni '80 in poi.
Devo ammettere che per certi versi l'album di Marty è leggermente inferiore a quello di Jason, ma si tratta di piccole imperfezioni, o forse solo una questione di gusti personali.
Marty ha il vizio di utilizzare gli sweep in sottofondo, come base per le canzoni, un muro di note che si contrappongono alla semplicità della melodia portante.

Quindi un periodo di forte crisi per Marty, addirittura lessi da qualche parte che sarebbe arrivato al punto di volersi tagliare i capelli e momentaneamente mettere da parte la musica, per trovarsi un lavoro "serio".
Se non sbaglio, risulta essere anche l'album più venduto di Marty, trascinato in alto dal mastodontico successo di "Countdown To Extinction" dei Megadeth.
Marty poi si prende il lusso di ospitare in fase di produzione (solo nei primi quattro brani) Kitaro, famosissimo compositore New Age giapponese, che contribuirà non poco alla riuscita dell'album.

Marty Friedman is een zeer bekende naam in de wereld van de langharige hoofdschudders, door onder andere zijn werk bij Cacophony (met Jason Becker) en natuurlijk Megadeth.
Een fel oranje zelfklever op de voorkant van de cd deelt je mee dat dit album de reden is waarom Marty Friedman Megadeth heeft verlaten.
Dat de gitarist ook het klassieke werk niet schuwt laat hij horen in het ultra korte 0-7-2, om vervolgens in Salt In The Wound weer helemaal los te gaan.
