Kochi, July 22: Maruti is expecting that sales of its Wagon R model in Kerala would go up by at least 20 per cent with the launch of the new look version of the car.
Of the total sales of Maruti vehicles in the state, Wagon R constitutes 17 per cent, Arun Malhotra, Chief General Manager (Sales), told a press meet here after launching the new Wagon R in the Kerala market.
He said Maruti sold about five lakh cars in the domestic market last year, of which one lakh were Wagon R’s.

The official said the interests of shareholders would be protected in the Maruti case, but ruled out ‘‘interfering’’ in the stock markets.
