Marvin Julian Miller (born April 14, 1917 in The Bronx, New York City) is the former executive director of the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) from 1966 - 1982.
Miller, a labor economist, first started at the National War Labor Relations Board, and then moved on to the Machinist Union and the United Auto Workers.
Miller became unpopular with both fans and owners when he led the union to two strikes, the first in 1972 which lasted 13 days, and again in 1981 which lasted 50 days.

Miller, in declining health for two years, was admitted to Santa Monica hospital last Sunday after a heart attack, his wife, Elizabeth, said.
Born Marvin Mueller in St. Louis, he graduated from Washington University before taking to the airwaves in the pioneer days of radio, starring in dozens of shows from the 1930's to the 1950's.

Considering he spent most of his work in Hollywood as a disembodied voice, it was ironic that the only other regular actor on the show was Paul Free, the only film actor that was “an off screen voice” more often than Miller.
