Mary Frann (February 27, 1943 – September 23, 1998) was an American actress.
Mary Frann made her screen acting debut in the television movie Nightmare in Chicago which was originally broadcast as an episode of Kraft Suspense Theatre in 1963.
Frann died in her sleep of cardiac failure at her home in Beverly Hills, California and was interred in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, California.

Mary's purpose in founding the AJM Council was to provide a way for all those who had benefited from Junior Miss to give back to the program by supporting the AJM Council in its mission to increase scholarship opportunities for Junior Miss participants, enhance public awareness of the program and help secure national sponsors.
The AJM Council increased the scholarship to $3,500 in 1997 and 1998, and to $4,000 in 1999.

Raised as Mary Frances Luecke in St Louis, Missouri, television actress Mary Frann was best known for her portrayal of Joanna Loudon on the popular CBS sitcom "Newhart" (1982-90).
With a solid resume of TV work, Frann made her big screen debut in "Woman in the Rain" (1976) but was unable to find suitable follow-up roles and returned to the medium where she excelled.
Frann did a good bit of acting during the run of the show as well, guest starring on shows such as "Hotel" (ABC, 1985) and "The New Mike Hammer" (CBS, 1987) and stepping in for Betty Buckley in the NBC telefilm "Eight is Enough: A Family Reunion" (1987), playing amiable matriarch Abby Bradford.

LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- A coroner's report released Wednesday concluded that "Newhart" TV star Mary Frann died in her sleep from a heart attack.
Frann was best known for playing the character of Joanna Louden on "Newhart" during its eight-year run on CBS.
After the show ended in 1990, Frann switched types and portrayed the sultry Clementine Duke in the steamy 1990 miniseries "Jackie Collins' Lucky/Chances." She also starred in the ABC series "King's Crossing" and played Amanda Peters for four years on NBC's "Days of Our Lives."
