Mary's strong-willed insistence on playing her harp (a sacred instrument) and her piano in her jail quarters, as well as her refusal to gratify the curiosity of the vulgar by displaying herself at the window, arouse more ill will among Biberry residents, however, than can be offset by Timms's most ambitious efforts in her behalf.

If you knew Mary in the late 70s or visited her sex shop in Tooting (where she'd serve you in a bikini) you could have bought this recording from her.
Mary was a true sex star, bringing sex out of the closet and seeing it very much as something to be enjoyed and savoured, not locked away behind closed doors.
This, I admit is a pathetic overview of Mary's eventful life, and I suggest if you want the whole in-depth story, buy "Come Play With Me (The Life and Films of Mary Millington)" by Simon Sheridan published by Fab Press.

The plan, it seems, is not to tell Dougan that Lucy is an undercover plant rather for her to go in the backway, as it were.

 The Playbirds
Despite all the comedy stuff (which, of course, was appallingly unfunny), the real star of Come Play With Me was Mary Millington, who went into the film as yet another porn model, and emerged as the best known name in the industry.
Essentially a re-make of the 1959 film The Cover Girl Murders (starring a young Harry H Corbett), the mix of sex and murder was actually a bit distasteful and the film didn't replicate the success of the cheesy, corny cheerfulness of Come Play With Me.
The year after the film was released, Mary Millington's position as the greatest legend of British porn was sadly secured when she committed suicide.

Probably the last of such hits (can you call it the end of an era?), in amongst the getting-on-a-bit professional cast members there was one star who would become the movie's chief selling point: Mary Millington.
Which would be a cheat to her fans, as she's barely in the film, and only has one set piece where she administers a massage to one of the clients.
As Mary committed suicide a couple of years after making the film, you would have thought this would render the production hard to enjoy, but no matter as even if she were still alive today, it would be difficult to fathom much entertainment value.
