Gavin Hamilton, a pioneer among pioneers, and one of the notable factors of the early Hudson Bay days of the province of British Columbia, died this morning after a short illness at the Provincial Royal Jubilee hospital, at the age of 74 years.
Hamilton was later chief factor of the Hudson's Bay company, in charge of New Caledonia, which practically comprised all the country between the Fraser and the Skeena.

Hamilton, proclaimed a borough in 1877, was named after Captain John Charles Fane Hamilton, who met his death in the battle of Gate Pa. First mayor of the fledging city was Isaac R. Vialou, an architect of some renown with several other business interests in the area.
Movies first came to Hamilton when films were shown in the King's Theatre in 1911, followed by a touch of Hollywood with film-making in the 1920's.

To be fair, Victoria Hamilton (Victoria) is an actress I just don't care for.
She is lovely as the coming-of-age Victoria, but the biggest problem here is that she is not believable playing much over the age of 25.
This is a film that would have benefited immensely by double casting the leads/ breaking half way through to change them to older actors.
