  Mary de Bohun - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The daughter of Humphrey de Bohun, 7th Earl of Hereford, she was a great heiress, and her elder sister, Eleanor, became the wife of Thomas of Woodstock, first Duke of Gloucester, the youngest child of Edward III.
Mary married Henry, then known as Bolingbroke and nowhere in the line of succession to the throne, in 1380 or 1381.
Mary died giving birth to the last child, Philippa, who married in 1406 Eric of Pomerania, king of the Kalmar Union of Denmark, Norway and Sweden.

In 1447, William de la Pole, 4th earl of Suffolk (see under Pole, family), who had succeeded Beaufort as the king's chief adviser, had Gloucester arrested for treason.
The duke fell sick and died in custody.

Henry was born at Monmouth in 1387, eldest son of Henry IV and Mary de Bohun, and succeeded his father in 1413.
Henry’s widow Catherine de Valois (1401-1437) married Owen Tudor, a Welsh squire, and one of her sons, Edmund, Earl of Richmond was the father of the future Henry VII.
She was buried in the old Lady chapel and when Henry VII pulled this down to build his new chapel he moved his grandmother’s body and it was placed above ground in an open coffin of loose boards near Henry V, where it remained for nearly 200 years.

The eldest son of Henry of Lancaster and Mary de Bohun, Henry V was born at Monmouth on Aug. 9, 1387.
His early military training was under Thomas Percy, Earl of Worcester, and he is believed to have been educated at Queen's College, Oxford, under his uncle Henry Beaufort (later bishop of Winchester).
After the defeat of the English forces under the Duke of Clarence at Beauge, Henry was forced to return to France to reestablish his control in March 1421; there he relieved Chartres and drove the forces of the Dauphin across the Loire.
