It pioneered Catholic education in the American vision that the Maryknoll Sisters developed, as opposed to the traditional European-based education, such as those at Sacred Hearts Academy and Saint Louis School.
In 1931, the Maryknoll Sisters expanded the school to accommodate older students; in 1935, Maryknoll School graduated its first class.

Last year, before she was handcuffed and arrested at a protest at the former School of the Americas, Sister Lil planted a wooden cross in tribute to the four women on the grounds of the school in Fort Benning, Ga., that is now called the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation.
The Maryknoll nun was a missionary in Bolivia for 20 years and during that time she came in contact with the four churchwomen: Ursuline Sister Dorothy Kazel, lay missioner Jean Donovan and Maryknoll Sisters Maura Clarke and Ita Ford, who were kidnapped, raped and murdered 25 years ago by Salvadoran military personnel.
She participates in a yearly vigil at the school to protest the deaths of the churchwomen and for other injustices she said are linked to graduates of the school run by the U.S. Department of Defense.

Our school is famous for its beautiful buildings and girls :) But to me, the special thing about Maryknoll is that every Maryknoller is unique - we all have our idiosyncrasies, which make us very interesting people.
I've also done a bunch of activities outside school, the most memorable one was being the secretary for the Hong Kong Outstanding Students' Association.
Finally, I would like to mention a number of teachers at Maryknoll who have a significant influence on me. Mr Aloysius Lee, my English teacher in Form 4 as Form 5, is quite an quirky personality as well as an incredible teacher.
