 Contraception Counts: New York
Some of these women were from other states, and some New York residents had abortions in other states, so this rate may not reflect the abortion rate of state residents.
In the Northeast census region, where New York is located, 14% of women having abortions traveled at least 50 miles, and 4% traveled more than 100 miles.
New York does not have any of the major types of abortion restrictions—such as waiting periods, mandated parental involvement or limitations on publicly funded abortions—often found in other states.

There's little for the young — just a few bars and no beaches or nightclubs — and these new householders are too circumspect and perhaps too old to be showcasing their excesses, baubles and abs.
