  Maserati Biturbo Specifications
The Maserati Biturbo (pronounced Bee-Turbo) was introduced into the United States during the 1984 model year.
For the 1986 model year, the 2 door coupe was temporarily dropped from the lineup and two new models arrived: the Biturbo Spyder, a convertible, and the 4-door Biturbo 425.
The lineup became the Biturbo Si (coupe), the Biturbo 425i (4-door), and the Spyder.

Maserati Biturbo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Biturbo was a two-door, four-seater notchback coupé featuring, as the name implies, a two-litre V-6 engine with two turbochargers (of somewhat smaller dimensions than the BMW 3 Series cars of the time) and a luxurious interior.
All Maserati models from the Biturbo's introduction in 1981 until 1997 (except the Quattroporte) were based on the original Biturbo architecture, among them the four-door 420/425, the Spyder, the 228 and the later Shamal and Ghibli II.
His plan was to combine the prestige of the Maserati brand with a sports car that would be more affordable than the earlier high-priced models that had traditionally made up the Maserati range.

 MIE Corp. Biturbo Buyers Guide
But the Biturbo is largely forgotten - perhaps it's because the cars had a reputation for fragility when they were new, and with a price tag of £26,000 (US$37,076) people opted for a 944 or M3 instead.
The areas most affected are the bottoms of the doors, the tail edge of the bootlid and the leading edge of the bonnet and front wings, which are vulnerable to stone chips.
Biturbos are notoriously tail happy, and over the years many have done some off roading.
