June 1, 2004--(Indianapolis) One hundred volunteers are expected to turn out to beautify the Massachusetts Avenue Cultural District this Saturday, June 5, from 8:30 a.m.
Volunteers will meet at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Alabama St. (in the greenspace next to Starbucks).
Volunteers will plant annual and perennial flowerbeds and gardens along Massachusetts Avenue between Delaware Street and 10th Street.

 RTC - Trail of the Month
This extension will connect the Monon Trail to the Old Northside, Chattam Arch and Massachusetts Avenue districts of Indianapolis.
The Monon Trail consists of 7.5 miles in Indianapolis, where the Monon Trail is part of the Indy Greenways network, and 5.2 miles in Carmel where the trail is known as the Monon Greenway.
In Indianapolis and Carmel, Indiana, the Monon Trail is a testament to the power of rail-trails to re-shape communities.

 Indianapolis Theatre Fringe Festival
IndyFringe is a riotous celebration of theatre—old and new—edgy and not so—that happens over 10 days at Theatre on the Square, the Phoenix Theatre, ComedySportz and the American Cabaret Theatre, all located within walking distance of one another, in the Massachusetts Avenue Cultural District.
The mission of IndyFringe is to provide an accessible, affordable outlet that draws diverse elements of the community together and inspires creative experiences through the arts.
36 theatre companies will present five shows each over the 10-day period, for a total of 180 shows in 10 days.

 Davlan Pocket Park in Indianapolis on Massachusetts Avenue
Riley Area Development Corporation developed an open space between Alabama Street and Massachusetts Avenue as an urban pocket park to serve Davlan Building residents and street level commercial uses, as well as visitors to the Avenue.
