Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, commonly referred to as MASS MoCA, is a museum located in North Adams, Massachusetts.
Along with a large variety of contemporary art displays, the museum also hosts film screenings and has seen performances by a variety of musical acts, including Cat Power and Steve Earle.
It is considered to be the largest contemporary arts museum in the world, and has started to revive a dying economy within the town.

In April 1995, the state released $18.6 million, and last summer construction began on the first phase of a plan that will see the renovation of 160,000 of the more than 700,000 square feet of space that the 12-acre, 27-building complex comprises altogether.
