 Shawmut Trail Expressway (MA 3A, unbuilt)
, the Massachusetts Department of Public Works (MassDPW) advocated the construction of a new six-lane expressway to supplement MA 3 (Pilgrims Highway), and provide relief for the existing MA 3A - which the expressway was to parallel - through the South Shore.
The proposed route was expected to carry anywhere from 65,000 to 100,000 vehicles per day (AADT).
The expressway, while relieving MA 3A, Morissey Boulevard and the local street system, is not without its disadvantages.

Once the GPS device was out of his snow plowing truck, Gratta allegedly plowed a private institution, using the salt provided by the state.
Eddy allegedly stored the device in his vehicle and continued on his assigned route while Gratta resumed plowing and salting private areas in Cohasset, Hingham and Hull, which were not part of his state route.

Since the interchange was built with a through route in mind, the I-95 NB-MA 128 NB movement had and still has just one lane, so traffic must crawl around it, while the I-95 NB-I-93 NB movement was made freeflowing.
Apparently, some drivers are actually dumb enough to miss the freeway split, and so the same Exit 58 that NB traffic uses to SB I-495 is also signed TO I-495.

In April 1941, off Perim Island, Red Sea, en route to India, she was diverted to Aden to offload her patients, and then ordered to Tobruk to replace the hospital ship "Vita" which had been damaged by dive bombers.
She completed 6 round voyages on this route, the last one commencing 13/4/1921 and then, in 1922 became the "Italia", and was used as a floating exhibition ship.
