 Hockey Fouls
Throwing the Hockey Stick is penalized as follows: if a defender throws his stick or any article at the puck in his defending zone, a penalty shot is awarded to the attackers if they have not scored when that play is completed; any other incident in the playing area incurs a major penalty.
All hockey players are permitted to stop or bat the puck in the air with the open hand, or to push it along the ice using the hand, but if another player of the same team plays the puck next, a face-off is held.

Game misconduct and match penalties (for attempting to injure an opponent, kicking, etc.) result in the expulsion of the player from the game.
The game originated in Canada around 1855, when the game on ice was first played with a puck rather than a ball, distinguishing it from field hockey, as played by British soldiers in Canada.
A penalty shot is awarded in the National Hockey League for offences such as fouling a player with the puck who is advancing towards the goaltender with no defenders in his way.

The version of air hockey contained in this collection is absolutely magnificent, with 5 levels of difficulty to match all player levels, four table environments, Internet play, and graphics, sounds, and puck movement that simply could not be more authentic.
Many years ago Broderbund released a decent air hockey game called Shufflepuck Café, but after that the offerings were so poor and so sparse that in the early 1990s I wrote my own crude DOS air hockey game called Airpuck (still available for download on many shareware web sites).
I have to state right off the bat that I have loved air hockey for years, and I could not wait to see this new version.
