Computational photography refers to computer image processing in which the image acquisition is influenced by the desire to process multiple pictures of the same subject matter, into an aggregate image or image sequence.
Ideally, computational photography captures, as best as possible, an array of real numbers rather than integers, while maintaining the ability to store, wirelessly send, process, and display the image on a continuous tone scale.
There are two main file formats for computational photography: one is based on an extension of the PPM (Portable Pixmap), and the other is based on an extension of JPEG.

 Close-up Photography Books
Close-up photography is used in a variety of areas such as nature, medical and forensic, instruction and training, archiving, and the arts.
Many photography books have some information about close-up work, but usually the subject is not treated in-depth and the variety of problems likely to come up when the photographer begins magnifying are not addressed.
The creative side of close-up photography is also explained in detail, including useful tips for discovering and capturing artistic insights, along with color, composition, lighting, themes, center of interest, artistic ethics and digital imaging.

It is shown that double exposure speckle photography (DESP) in the frame mode allows the derivation of a two dimensional map of deflection angle experienced by light passing through a turbulent flow.
A mathematical description of light propagation in an optically inhomogeneous medium is presented.
The obtained results show that speckle photography may be used as a basis for tomographic studies of 3D temperature fields in such combustion zones.

Initially we intended this tip to be a no- or low-math summary of the rather mathematical treatment we were preparing on the important problem of color integrity in digital photography.

For reasons explained in the mathematical companion report, we currently recommend that if you plan to make a large change to the complete grayscale to change the contrast in an image, convert the image to Lab color first, make the adjustment on the "lightness" channel and then convert back to RGB if you wish.

Penrose has argued previously, notably in Shadows of the Mind, in favor of mathematical platonism — the view that mathematical notions (numbers, primeness, the Mandelbrot set) have an existence that is independent both of the physical world and of our mental world.
We can perceive mathematical notions, but this perception does not generate them in a way that is analogous to how physical states can generate mental processes — mathematical notions are not dependent upon our perception for their existence, at least not if you are a mathematical platonist.
