The Primary Mathematics Challenge (for primary school pupils) is organised by the Mathematical Association.
The Junior Mathematical Challenge is a multiple-choice competition for students up to year 8 in England and Wales, year S2 in Scotland, year 9 in Northern Ireland.
High scorers in the IMC are invited to compete in the Intermediate Mathematical Olympiad and Kangaroo (for the highest scorers) and in the European Kangaroo (another multiple-choice competition, for other high scorers).

The American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) is a series of high school mathematics contests used to select the six-member team to represent the United States at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).
The American Mathematics Competitions is also the name of the organization, based in Lincoln, Nebraska, responsible for creating, distributing and coordinating the AMC contests, which include the American Mathematics Contest (AMC), the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME), and the United States of America Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO).
The answer to each of the 15 questions on the AIME is an integer between 0 and 999 inclusive, so while it is technically a multiple-choice test, it is not one in practice.

The Mathematical, Computing, Chemistry, and Physics Olympiad winners attend two-week-long camps where they interact with scientists and mathematicians to develop their skills at the same time as they compete for spots on the national teams for the international competition.
In general, the competitions report that their participants felt the experiences were positive, but few evaluations expanded on what is meant by "positive" or how the positive experiences affected students.

This is the stated aim of the American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) series of exams.
February 15th - AMC 10, AMC 12 (formerly the American High School Mathematics Exam -- AHSME): This is a 75 minute 25 question multiple choice exam with a maximum possible score of 150.
I wrote numerous math competitions in high school, including the USAMO, the Canadian Math Olympiad, and the '81 IMO (representing Canada).

Rose students and faculty are involved in many local and national mathematics competitions.
In early December comes the grande dame of mathematics competitions, the William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition.
This takes a full Saturday with a three hour stint at six tough problems on part A, a break for lunch with the faculty, and then another three hours at the six problems for part B. The typical turnout is about 20 and we have been participating as long as any one can remember.

Sponsored by the Missouri section of the Mathematical Association of America, the Missouri Collegiate Mathematics Competition was held as part of the annual section meeting.

 American Mathematics Competitions
The AJHSME covers subject matter normally associated with the seventh and eighth grade mathematics curriculum and may be taken by all students in grades 8 and below.  The multiple-choice exam will take place November 17, 1998; high-scoring students will be invited to participate in the American High School Mathematics Exam.
Each February, 350,000 students nationwide participate in the AHSME, the first in a series of examinations that culminates in the International Mathematical Olympiad.  The AHSME is a 30-question, multiple-choice, calculators-allowed exam, to be completed in 90 minutes.
Approximately 160 of the top-scoring AHSME/AIME students (based on a weighted average) are invited to take the USAMO, a six-question, six-hour essay/proof examination, High scorers on the USAMO are invited to attend the Mathematical Olympiad Summer Program, and the six highest scorers represent the U.S. at the International Mathematical Olympiad.
