		Her lust to avenge the death of her brother she gets Leon to teach her to be a a hit man. The story shows the changes in the young girl from innocent to killer and a man that can kill with a cold dispassion and professionalism that is truly frightening into a tender father figure.
		With such films as La Femme Nikita and the Fifth Element to his credit he is one of the strangest and most talented directors of this day.
		When we first see Matilda a bit later one there is a similar shot down the stairway of her apartment house.

		Matilda also discovers another special talent -- the ability to move things with her mind -- which allows her to help herself and Miss Honey to overcome Miss Trunchbull's cruelty.
		Finally, MATILDA has that quality I find rarest and most treasured in family entertainment: it is family entertainment in the truest sense of the word.

	Leon - Review - A paedophilic relationship?
		Matilda's family are killed over a drug-related incident and from there on in here relationship with Leon blossoms.
		There are a number of references Matilda makes towards Leon being more than a father figure and even claims Leon is "her lover" to one of the characters in the film.
		The film is a relatively unknown flick amongst the majority of filmgoers but it should not be underrated because of the masterpiece it is.
