The Matrox DualHead2Go is a palm-sized device that expands the VGA output from your computer to two screens.
Matrox suggested that I drop my display settings back down to 16 bit color (instead of 32 bit color).
One thing that I wish it did was handle digital output (from a DVI jack) in addition to, or instead of, the analog signal, although I'm sure there are some significant technical hurdles to do so in a device like this.

Although it's not likely that you'll want your optical drives to be 820 feet away from you at all times under normal circumstances, we're sure we could envision a few scenarios where it'd be beneficial (or at least rather nifty).

Matrox is still finalizing prices and clock rates, but plans to produce two versions of cards bearing the new chip: a high-end card with a faster clock speed and more RAM, and a lower-end consumer version that will probably have 128MB and be priced at less than $400.

An article published by German web-site Tweak PC claims that Matrox Graphics is going to introduce a revised version of its Parhelia graphics card with AGP 8x support and 128MB of memory within the next few weeks, maybe even this month.
Matrox Graphics will require PCI Express bus already this year to be in a position to sell its graphics cards to owners of new desktops with PCI Express x16 slot.

Maximum resolution per display according to Matrox is 2048x1536x32 for analog displays, and 1920x1200x32 for digital displays.
Important limitation: when using 2 digital displays, both displays need to use the same resolution, colordepth and refresh rate, according to Matrox documentation this is a limitation of the hardware (you can still use independent mode, and Windows will recognize both displays individually).

Dual head desktop graphics cards are now the norm, but when Matrox first introduced it, it was quite a novelty.
The DualHead2Go achieves this feat by convincing your notebook graphics chipset that it’s connected to a single massive external monitor, when in fact it’s connected to two external monitors with the image spanning both.
