Born on a stoat farm at the age of 24, Matt quickly grew fond of escapism.
Matt was hired to work at GameSpot as Jeff Gerstmann's personal ball washer, an area in which his talents excelled greatly for two years.
Coupled with Matt's inability to spell correctly or having himself or someone else proof-read an article, his work was even lower than the standards expected of IGN's proprietary, mentally-disabled goat Fran Mirabaaaaahlla, who's only real skill was the his ability to type with hoofs.

In a recent episode of IGN Weekly, MattCasamassina took us (the audience) through a quick overview of the Wii interface (OS), from the disc loading to the friend code system.
We'll have to wait and see - there might be more videos; as MattCasamassina (the guy some of you think is Perrin Kaplan's boyfriend-to-be, which is so not true) said at IGN (where we got this video - thanks, IGN!) that this is only the first trailer of the multiplayer mode in action.
MattCasamassina is Editor-in-Chief of IGN's GameCube and Wii departments and one of gaming journalism's top 50 journalists.
This is probably the longest amount of time we have ever went without getting some kind of response from you whether it has been through the boards, mailbag, or an Nintendo Minute.
Nintendo kept the controller under raps, because of competitors copying them and there keeping the specs under raps because they are not something nintendo wants us to focus on.
Matt has spoken to me in the past too, that doesn't mean I think I can summon him like a genie from a bottle.
MattCasamassina is the editor of IGNCube.com, a division of IGN Entertainment, Inc. David Gornoski is the Editor-in-Chief of NintendoNow.com, a division of E-mpire Ltd. Co.
Matt: HD is important to me, but it's not integral.
Matt: Well, Nintendo has recently suggested that the so-called "revolution" will pertain to the system's new controller, so I'm inclined to believe that any fixed viewpoint patents are probably not related.
IGN's own MattCasamassina had the opportunity to chat briefly with the Nintendo mover and shaker a Nintendo's executive vice president of sales and marketing, Reggie Fils-Aime, was on-hand at DICE 2006's AIAS awards last week in Las Vegas.
IGN's own MattCasamassina had the opportunity to chat briefly with the Nintendo mover and shaker about the company's AIAS nominations, DS, Revolution and E32006.

As many of you know, Jon Metts, hard working preview editor of the Planet is also the founder of Nintendo fan site, the Nformant, an entity just a hair older than the Planet.
The interview explains how Matt broke into the industry, something that hinged on his knowledge of the Atari Jaguar.
The IGN64 glory days of Peer & Matt are relived and Matt goes on record concerning his ongoing abuse of Fran.
Matt's gotta problem with Wii Sports :: DESTRUCTOID :: Hardcore gaming blog
More specifically it's with Wii sports, that, depending on how you look at things, could speak for other issues that may crop up with the Wii and its future games.

MattCasamassina says Metroid Prime 3 “Fully playable” at E3
If it is fully playable that would obviously mean a launch title, but we can’t believe everything out of Matt C.’s mouth… But man, launching with Metroid Prime 3 and Red Steel and Zelda: TP on the GCN, how will Nintendo keep this console on the shelves in America.
IGN spent "Several Hours" rolling, throwing, and swiping away at "Wii Sports;" a game bundle to be included with the Wii Gaming Console.
IGNNintendo's Editor, MattCasamassina, said he had some problems controlling these games.
IGNNintendo Editor, MattCasamassina, had some issues with "Wii Sports." Although he loved the Bowling game, and dubbed it, "Totally Rocking," he had some problems with the control aspects of the Tennis portion.
Matt, do you think SSB:M would have been the highest selling launch title if a new Mario or Zelda was released at the same time?
You’ll have to excuse me, Matt, if I don’t let Nintendo’s success or failure rest on the shoulders of Justin Timberlake, who is so inept with women that he opened up a can of worms during the Super Bowl.
You ask the readers, Matt, why Nintendo isn’t trying to drown out Halo 2.
I remember you posting about the rumor of it and then in the last few weeks two other sites one of them being 1up started saying sources close to them suggest CoD is in development for rev.
Tony Hawk's not my style, but it would be good for Revolution fans to have as many games as possible.
Not that I'm complaining Matt but why do you post news like this on your blog and not the IGN Rev channel?
For some reason it seems MattCasamassina (of IGN.com fame) has been taking heat from Nintendo fanboys for being a "Nintendo hater" and a "Game Cube basher".
I know I'm not a huge IGN fan, but Matt is 100% right.
Though I think sometimes my apathetic reaction to the little mistakes Nintendo keeps making, makes me seem like I find them infallible.* It would be nice if Matt's words made a difference.

Judging by the stories from MattCasamassina’s adventures over at a pre-E3 party that THQ was throwing, it does look like THQ is developing some games for Revolution.
They mostly have to do with MattCasamassina, Mark Bozon, and Craig Harris, all writers at IGN.
Since they're really funny and have a lot to do with Nintendo, I decided that I should post them.
And you're not going to want to miss some of other updates, either.

Final Fantasy Database - FF:CC information.(Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-11)
In less than two weeks, Nintendo will release the Game Designers Studio-developed Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, an original role-playing game with four-player support enhanced by the Game Boy Advance/GameCube connection, for the console.
IGNcube editors MattCasamassina and Mary Jane Irwin have spent a great detail of time with the finished US version of the game.
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles is a mildly entertaining single-player game.
IGN GameCube and Revolution Editor-In-Chief MattCasamassina was able to speak to some representatives from Rare and Microsoft at GDC 2006 and learned that all games produced and owned by Rareware will not be available for Nintendo Revolution's virtual console.
In addition, it is unlikely that Goldeneye 007 will appear on the virtual console as both Rareware and Electronic Arts (the series' new license holder) would have to commit to the virtual console.
