The Dragons led 12-4 at halftime after tries to Matt Cooper (3rd) and Barrett (37th) before the floodgates opened in the second with the hosts crossing through John Carlaw (46th), Reece Simmonds (60th), Cooper (62nd) and Lincoln Withers (69th).
Dragons coach Nathan Brown hit out at those who criticised his side's hot and cold form despite St George Illawarra notching only its second win in five games.

After weathering a powerful onslaught from Melbourne, which saw Matt Geyer thundering in to ground a well weighted grubber kick in the 12th minute and an inspired second half fightback, the Warriors showed they are definitely in contention for a top eight spot.
Their third looked just as easy as Todd Byrne collected his 10th try of the season after Jones caught the Storm defenders out with another grubber kick that opened the door for the speedster to slip across and ground the ball.
They nearly added another try to the total on halftime when Jones recovered his own chip kick and ran 60 metres only to be pulled down just short of the line.
