Driscoll, who spent a total of seven weeks at Valpo before coming to Baylor, spent the previous five seasons as an assistant at Clemson under Larry Shyatt from 1998 to 2003.
Driscoll's career began at his prep alma mater, as he served as head boys basketball coach at Pittsburgh's Northgate High School from 1988-1990.

Driscoll became Mayor in May 2001 when former Republican Mayor Roy Bernardi was appointed as deputy secretary at the Department of Housing and Urban Development in President Bush's administration.
Previously, he served as President of the Syracuse Common Council from 1998 to 2001, as Third District Councilor in 1995, and as Second District Councilor from 1987 to 1989.

Syracuse Mayor Matt Driscoll won a second term Tuesday in the city's tightest mayoral race in 80 years, beating Republican Joanie Mahoney by 3.6 percent of the vote.
Driscoll took 49.4 percent of the vote, while Mahoney took 45.8 percent, according to unofficial results from the Onondaga County Board of Elections.
In the end, the margin of victory was the smallest since the city's mayoral race of 1925, when Republican George Hanna slipped past Democrat John Walrath with a 1.4 percent margin.
