Poker Book Review: Matthew Hilger, Internet Texas Hold'em. Winning Strategies from an Internet Pro
I agree with Hilger that it probably means something when your opponent acts immediately but I would be cautious to draw any conclusions when it takes unusual long until your opponent makes his move.
Two other differences between online and casino game Hilger mentions are that internet players seems to be "trickier" ("The virtual environment of the internet makes many players play a little more deceptively than they would against a live opponent") and there is more bluffing going on.
First Hilger conveys the theoretical foundations, in which important points and concepts are visually emphasized, then a "Chapter Review" summarizes the most important points and at the end of the chapter you find "Test Your Skills", a collection of selected examples from internet play.

Hilger follows-up with Playing Your Opponent - tips on playing loose vs. tight players, etc.; Bankroll Management - discussion of bankroll, earn rates, standard deviation, etc. He presents a sample bankroll building strategy advocating the new player start at the low limits and build from there, moving up when the bankroll warrants.
Hilger presents the concepts in an easy to follow format with chapter summaries and the 'quizzes' give the reader the opportunity to see them put to practice.

Hilger's book is structured in a familiar manner.
Some would say that Hilger's recommendations too often have a player entering the pot by calling rather than raising, and depending on the texture of the game, I might agree.
Generally, I think Hilger's recommendations are good, although he's a little sketchy on some points and his focus seems to wane a little toward the end of the book.

INTERNET TEXAS HOLD'EM by Hilger, Matthew
Hilger doesn't assume you know it all and jump right in.
He discusses the turn and the river card in great depth, which is important, then moves to bankroll management; site and game selection; online "tells" and multiple games; keeping records; playing in tournaments and offers three pages discussing collusion and cheating.
The book offers a multitude of tips; practice hands and quizzes to keep you sharp, on your toes and Hilger's summaries are timely and just the right length to reinforce key concepts worth remembering.

I'm hoping that Matthew puts out another book as this book is simply incredible and its his first book.
