In addition to his work in chamber music, Matthias Maute is the first flautist of the Baroque Trinity Consort Orchestra in Portland (Oregon), conducted by Eric Milnes, and also plays with the Rebel Baroque Orchestra in New York conducted by Owen Burdick.
Maute is the author of a book on improvisation which will be published by Breitkopf and Härtel in spring 2004.

 Matthias Maute - Classical music composer
Matthias Maute (1963) studied the recorder in Freiburg and at the Utrecht Conservatory, where his teachers included Baldrick Deerenberg and Marion Verbruggen.
There is at least one CD of Matthias Maute in the ANTES Edition of Bella Musica (BM-CD 31.9063).
The recordermusic was made by Hume, Handel, Haydn and (that's the most important part) Maute himself ("La petite étude, Lamento, Doornroosje, Les Barricades, Once there was a child, How I love you sweet Follia, Dynamics, Some more words).
