Maurice Thomas "Mo" Johnston (born April 30, 1963 in Glasgow) is a former Scottish football striker, who made his name with Celtic before controversially playing with Rangers.
Moving to the midfield as the years went by, Johnston was the glue on the Wizards team that won the MLS Cup in 2000.
Johnston retired after the 2001 season, and from 2003 to 2005 was an assistant coach to Bob Bradley for the MetroStars.

Johnston was the Glasgow catholic who turned his back on his beloved Celtic and effectively broke the sectarian, protestant signing policy of Rangers.
Johnston had already had one successful spell with Celtic when he was paraded by Jack McGinn at a 1989 press conference as a returning hero from French club Nantes.
McMurdo insists that Johnston had talked to Celtic without his permission and that he warned the club that they had to deal with him instead of Nantes as it was his company who held the Scotland international's contract.

Maurice was not with the 1st Georgia Regiment in the Carolina campaign during early 1865.

A Scottish court has granted HMRC the right to seize US$1794.80 owed by the BBC to Johnston, who owes the Revenue £449,692.89 in back taxes.
The former football star was not present to hear the decision.
