It came as part of Operation Mawtini, which began July 15 with the aim of tripping up the insurgency in western Anbar and impeding a summer surge in attacks.
Mawtini has resulted in the detention of 124 suspected insurgents and turned up what the military said were weapons caches, including one with 160 gallons of nitric acid rigged for detonation.
Elsewhere in western Anbar, U.S. troops Wednesday night mounted a reconnaissance foray into a large desert tract northeast of Rutbah to gauge whether oil pirates have been operating in the area, said Marine Capt. Mike Blackford of the 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion.

Since 1936, Mawtini ("My homeland") arabic:موطني was unofficially the anthem used by palestinians, it was written by Ibrahim Towqan and composed by the lebanese composer mohammad flaifel.
In addition there is the Fiday'e anthim, which was used since 1972, Fateh used it while converting its institutes names from fateh-specific names into generic palestinian names, and it replaced its Al-Asifa ("The Storm") of fateh.
Anyone got the audio song of Mawtini, there is a good one but i forgot who sang it, i guess someone from gulf!

 Multi-National Force - Iraq - Marines launch Operation Mawtini in western Al Anbar
Camp Ripper, Al Asad, Iraq – Regimental Combat Team 2, located in western Al Anbar province, launched Operation Mawtini July 15th to neutralize any future attempts by Anti-Iraqi Forces to re-establish a presence in key urban areas along the Euphrates River valley.
Operation Mawtini, which will include the Iraqi Army’s 2nd and 3rd brigades of the 7th division, begins on the heels of Operation Harris Ba’sil which provided a better picture of enemy movement patterns and safe havens.
The information gained during Harris Ba’sil will allow the Regiment to conduct focused disruption and security operations in those areas critical to the enemy.
