 Max Headroom
Max Headroom was one of the most innovative science fiction series ever produced for American television, an ambitious attempt to build upon the cyberpunk movement in science fiction literature.
The character of Max Headroom, the series's unlikely cybernetic protagonist, was originally introduced in a 1984 British television movie, produced by Peter Wagg, and starring Canadian actor Matt Frewer.
Their interest was only intensified by Max's move from science fiction to advertising and to talk television, where this non-human celebrity (commodity) traded barbed comments with other talk-show-made celebrities, such as Doctor Ruth, Robin Leach, Don King, and Paul Schaffer.

Although this movie was titled MAX, John Cusack failed to engage me. I am not sure of the historical accuracy of MAX except for the fact that the character of Max Hoffman is fictional so I cannot account on that.
Max, who has been encouraging him to pour his feelings into his artwork and to stay away from rabblerousing in the streets and beer halls, can do little but sit back in awe watching this seemingly insignificant young man beginning to exert his influence on the world around them.

Mad Max (1979)   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-07)
Goofs: Continuity: When Max is playing with the rubber mask to cheer up a "not grumpy" Jessie before he goes to see Goose, the baby (Sprog) in the background has different toys in his left hand each time we see him.
When Max takes off the mask, Sprog has a brick, ball or similar object that he can clearly lift, and the plush toy is behind him, out of reach.
Matching this, Max is a good antihero, already a typically macho cop, it helps that we know little of him because it allows the script to easily strip him down to the barest aggressive bones later on.
