The Christian settlers, mostly from the Ilocos region notably the towns of Cabugao,Tagudin,Sarrat, Paoay, Sinait and Bacarra settled in villages in the southern portion of a then Christian Town Camiling, now acknowledge as the mother Town of Mayantoc.
The new town was inaugurated on January 1, 1917 with the Spanish mestizo Don Antonio Sanz the first appointed Municipal President, Don Francisco Santos y Pascual, the acknowledge founder and patron of the town on September 1, 1917.
