They are educated in Farsi and continue to speak Mazanderani.
The local Christian community has not recovered from the devastating persecution of its leaders and incredible restrictions on the registered Church or prohibition of house churches meeting for worship.
Mazanderani or Palari, is unwritten and is close to Farsi, the official language of Iran.

The Caspian dialects are as follows: the major one is known as Mazanderani (this name proceeds from "Mazainya daeva" of Avesta).
The Semnani dialect (spoken in Semnan) is closely allied to Mazanderani.
There are also two dialects somewhat different: Gilaki (in the region of Recht) and Talyshi (ranging up to Aras river in Azerbaijan).

Baba Taher poems are recited to the present day all over Iran accompanied with Seh Tar (three stringed viol or lute).
The quatrains (Dubayti or two-bayt metre poems) of Baba Taher are also written in local accents such as Mazanderani.
They say Pahlaviat to these kinds of poems and they are very ancient.
