		I didn't know where he was getting his information but when he told me about a new record there was a 90% chance I'd love it-- and almost no chance the dude-ish dudes I was hanging with had heard of it.
		It was the sort of vocal affect almost no one would think to try, because it was guaranteed to be an immediate turn-off.
		For me Galaxie 500 was the soundtrack to the end of the Cold War before I knew it was actually ending and I'd never connected with an album in quite the same way.
