 Mazda's Duratec HE
Mazda Motor Corporation's new family of 4-cylinder engines is the latest in a new range of powertrains that will establish Mazda as Ford Motor Company's center of excellence for all large I-4 gasoline engine development.
Displacement variations for Mazda's new family of engines are achieved by increasing bore size (87.5 mm for the 2.0-liter versus 83.0 mm for the 1.8-liter) while keeping the common stroke length of 83.1 mm for the 2.0-liter and 1.8-liter.
Mazda's use of S-VT and balance shaft in the 2.3-liter version of the company's new family of 4-cylinder engines provides the Mazda 6 an extra level of refinement and another level of NVH reduction.

Unless the Mazda name holds a special place in your heart, there's no reason to consider the 2006 Mazda B-Series Truck when there are several equally capable and infinitely more modern competitors available for the same price.
In a reversal of previous fortunes, Mazda was forced to rely on Ford to provide a basis for the B-Series, and it was recast as a modified Ford Ranger for the 1994 model year.
The 2006 Mazda B-Series is a good performer off-road, but the lack of an optional off-road package means you'll have to go to the aftermarket to outfit it properly for trail duty.

The 1992 Mazda Miata of Team TC Motorsports, driven by Andrew Caddell, Carlo Sparacio, Taryn Sparacio, and Will Schrader, completed 641 laps to finish second in class and an impressive 7th overall.
Because of the timing of the event (December 3-4, 2005) relative to the newness of the 2006 MX-5s (the 2006 Mazda MX-5 went on sale only a few months prior to the race), the team would be facing the many unknowns associated with a brand new platform that has never been raced before.
