The Mazda K family is a 60° V6 automobile engine, ranging from a tiny 1.8 L for the Mazda MX-3 to 2.0, 2.3 (in the Mazda Millenia) to 2.5 (for the Mazda MX-6, Mazda 626, Mazda Millenia, and early Mazda MPV).
The Mazda K series was co-developed with Suzuki, with Mazda reportedly handling the bulk of the design.
The early 2.0 L Suzuki H20A and Mazda KF are similar in design, but the two engine families diverged after this.

All of Mazda's Wankels are based on their first design of the 1960s, though there have been significant developments over the four decades since.

I was at my Mazda mechanic some time ago and I found that he was using a BIG beautiful technical manual about Mx-3 V6.
The Mazda Mx-3 has 2 engine, i4 and v6, the RS version was equiped with and i4 @ 88hp 1.6l SOHC from 92-93 and was changed to a 1.6l DOHC i4 @ 105hp in 94 until it being discontinued in North America in 1996.
Note, these engines are are bolt-in swaps, the clutch may need to be upgraded due to more torque, but bolt in, upgrade the computer and/or vaf and your all set (they used vafs not mafs in the v6s).

Both the Mazda 6i and 6s have the same oil requirements, a 5w-20 oil which meets or exceeds the Ford WSS-M2C-153H specification.
Using synthetic engine oil will not void your warranty, and the switch to synthetic can generally be done at anytime...but is usually recommended after the first thousand miles.
Thats because the audi/vw owners that ran 10,000 mile intervals ended up with sludged engines, which is why in 2004 audi/vw was forced to extend the warranty of all 1.8T owners due to improper recommendations to their dealerships.
