 Mazda's Duratec HE
Mazda Motor Corporation's new family of 4-cylinder engines is the latest in a new range of powertrains that will establish Mazda as Ford Motor Company's center of excellence for all large I-4 gasoline engine development.
Displacement variations for Mazda's new family of engines are achieved by increasing bore size (87.5 mm for the 2.0-liter versus 83.0 mm for the 1.8-liter) while keeping the common stroke length of 83.1 mm for the 2.0-liter and 1.8-liter.
Mazda's use of S-VT and balance shaft in the 2.3-liter version of the company's new family of 4-cylinder engines provides the Mazda 6 an extra level of refinement and another level of NVH reduction.

T: A letter rating for tires to indicate that they are theoretically rated for speeds up to 190 kph (118 mph), as in P220TR15.The next higher rating is H and the one lower rating is S
For example, the line coming from the windshield washer pump is connected to the bottom part of a "T" and the crossbar at the top sends the fluid to the two nozzles (one on each side of the windshield).
The top of the "T" tends to retard the transfer of heat from the head to the skirt of the piston.

 Overview: 2004 Mazda 3
As with all new-generation Mazda vehicles, its exterior design is dynamic and strong with a presence that visually communicates the exciting, fun-to-drive character that is the essence of a Mazda.
Mazda designers and engineers even placed the parking brake beside and behind the gear lever, which they determined would allow smaller drivers to operate it more easily when the seat is in a forward position.
MAZDA 3 has a collapsible steering wheel, but this one is designed to collapse forward rather than in a slightly downward direction, as testing has found this minimizes chest injuries.

Mazda, the Japanese automaker known for sensuous product lines and aggressive sports models like Miata and RX-7, wanted to construct a midsize luxury sports sedan of its own but went about it in an entirely different way.
Mazda invested heavily in designs by Cray supercomputers to create tight manufacturing tolerances, then built a new plant in Hofu, Japan, stocked with massive metal presses which can transform a single piece of sheet steel into a complex framework for door and fender alike.
A rigid monocoque platform with perimeter subframe becomes the foundation of Millenia upon which advanced suspension and handling components mount.

The Xedos 9 was a luxury car from Mazda of Europe.
Sold between 1993 and 2002, the Xedos 9 was the export version of Mazda's upscale Eunos 800 on the Mazda T platform.
The car was to be part of Mazda's upscale Amati marque as the Amati 500 in North America, but the demise of Amati caused the vehicle to be renamed the Mazda Millenia.

Mazda strove to provide a comfortable seating position that would give the driver clear feedback on the vehicle movements, have clear outward visibility for a wide range of statures, and position the driver optimally to operate the controls and switches.
Mazda 6's optional DSC system, a technology that adds further to the feeling of stability and confidence for the driver, is designed to activate when the vehicle is taking a turn too quickly for the road conditions.

Mazda Australia remains cautious about issuing full local specifications until its mid-January launch, but it is believed all Mazda3s will come standard with big-ticket items like air-conditioning and twin front airbags.
MAZDA says its new global small car is “everything we’ve learned”, combining the best attributes from both the Mazda2 light hatch and the mid-sized Mazda6, both of which set new benchmarks in their respective segments.
Mazda is smart enough to realise its new 3 will not attract the many blinkered European brand slaves but, given its new, higher pricetag to replace the bargain-basement 323’s sticker, it knows Mazda3 needs to be as good as benchmark Euro hatches like Astra, Golf, Megane and Focus to succeed.

With the redesign of Protege, a compact-class 4-door sedan with seating for five, Mazda's design team attempts to carve out maximum space for people, pile on comfort features usually carried by more expensive models, then provide perky acceleration in a fun-to-drive format but also bring home the fuel economy figures of an econo-miser commuter car.
As cute as it may be, don't judge Protege by the slant of its prow or the curt cut of its tail.
Reinforced steel side door beams and steel side pillars also work to shield riders, as do Mazda's dual airbags, 3-point belt systems, even such handling improvements as the car's chassis that now measures almost twice as stiff in bending as the previous Protege and one and a half times more rigid in torsional movement.

The key mechanism of this achievement is an entirely new platform with a wide track and a low center of gravity, composed of a newly developed front double-wishbone/rear E-type multi-link suspension and a high-rigidity body.
This new platform allows Mazda6 Sport to deliver precise linear steering, unrivaled stability through both straight lines and curves, as well as a robust braking capability that delivers one of the shortest stopping distances in its class.
