	Claire McCaskill - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		McCaskill was born in Rolla, Missouri, and spent her early childhood in the small Missouri towns of Houston, later moving to the town of Lebanon, and eventually Columbia.
		In 1982, McCaskill was elected to represent the Brookside neighborhood of Kansas City in the Missouri House of Representatives, where she became the first female attorney to serve in that body in some 40 years.
		In 1990 McCaskill was elected to the Jackson County Legislature (the equivalent of a county commission or county council), but left when she captured the Jackson County Prosecutor's office in 1992.

		More than ever, now, I worry about the burden that faces the coming one-party dominated government of Arkansas, headed by a governor born and bred in the legislative club of seniority, privilege and cosseting of the lobby.
		Having the state once again firmly blue, I just hope we don't waste this opportunity to stay focused on Arkansas issues and that the newly elected politicians stay connected and loyal to the people who put them there.
		McCaskill may not have gushed like a schoolgirl, like Harold Ford about being pro-life and pro-gun, but she did see fit to lie about Talent supporting stem cell research, which he does and so do I. We both support adult and cord blood stem cell research, both of which have shown promise.
