  Brief History of McCrory, AR
McCrory is one of the promising young towns of Arkansas.
McCrory, in order to give the growth of the town his personal attention, about two years ago removed from Texas, where he is the possessor of fine bodies of land, and a sheep ranch, and has taken up his abode in the growing young town that bears his name.
McCrory, who still owns most of the town lots and the land immediately surrounding the town, as well as considerable real estate in the county, is bending every effort to expedite the growth of the town and is offering liberal inducements to investors who show evidence of becoming good and permanent citizens.

Arkansas Tech University offers in-state tuition rates to Native American students in other states belonging to tribes which formerly lived in Arkansas, before relocation, and whose names are on the rolls of tribal headquaters.
An applicant must be an Arkansas resident; U.S. citizen or permanent resident; foreign language, mathematics, special education, guidance/counseling, gifted/talented or science major; enrolled as a full-time student in an approved institution; and plan to teach in an approved shortage area in an Arkansas secondary school for at least five years.
Arkansas Tech University is approved by the State Approving Agency for Veterans as a school (college, university, etc.) whereby veterans and dependents of deceased or disabled veterans may obtain subsistence while working toward a degree.

Davis, the city planner for McCrory, Arkansas, and Robison, who works for the Arkansas Department of Economic Development, said Friday they were driving near Cotton Plant, Arkansas, when a female ivory-billed swooped in the sky behind an oncoming truck.
Connie Bruce, a spokeswoman for Cornell University's Lab of Ornithology, which is researching the possible re-appearance of the ivory-billed woodpecker, said the search continues despite no evidence being turned up last winter.
