Alan McCulloch, managing director of media planning and buying agency i-level, is leaving the company.
The appointment of McCulloch - who joined last February along with Bartle Bogle Hegarty founder John Bartle as non-executive chairman - was made during an expansion period for the company early last year, which included the doubling of staff numbers in just three months.
His departure comes as the company restructures and evolves the MD position into that of group managing director, who will be responsible for the UK operation and the early stages of the European roll-out.

On October 5, 1835, the younger McCulloch joined the Matagorda Volunteer Company as a private under the command of George M. Collinsworth.
McCulloch submitted a petition, introduced by Patrick Usher, asking that he, his three sisters, and a relative named Uldy be exempted from the law.
McCulloch petitioned the Texas Congress in 1837 for citizenship for himself and his children and the right to receive grants of land.

McCulloch Engineering Company was based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the flathead supercharger unit was manufactured and sold between 1937 and 1940, and was significantly different to the later McCulloch blow through centrifugal superchargers in that it was an inline unit, which compressed and mixed the fuel/air charge.
McCulloch themselves reported in 1955 that Benson Ford had driven a McCulloch powered Thunderbird and was very impressed, and also reported in early 1956 that more than 50% of the VS57 supercharger installations were to Ford Thunderbirds.
McCulloch employees were given a 35% discount off the price of the supercharger kits, although the discount did not include the installation cost.

The McCullochs had been a prosperous and influential colonial North Carolina family but had lost much of their wealth as a result of the Revolutionary War and the improvidence of Alexander McCulloch, who so wasted his inheritance that he was unable to educate his younger sons.

Easy as the climbing was on this 4b pitch, Alan took a bit of care over potentially brittle flakes, As the tree belay was reached, a light shower had developed, so we called it a day rather than continuing on with the third pitch which is usually omitted anyway.
Ian soon joined Alan, I got some nice photographs and then they were off out of the "niche" and on the leftwards-sloping traverse up to the tree.
