Kompogas' Biogas facility in Otelfingen is a large scale composting facility that takes McDonald's Switzerland's kitchen waste, along with municipal yard waste, and kitchen scraps/vegetable peelings and uses the material to create biogas to fuel cars and trucks and rich compost to be used on nearby farms.
For McDonald's restaurants the waste is collected at the restaurant and brought to a large dumpster at the distribution center where it is collected and picked up by Kompogas.
