The health department and hospital received word Tuesday that the Chiron Corporation, the world's second-largest maker of the influenza or flu vaccine, will not be providing vaccine this year.
The McDonough County Health Department and McDonough District Hospital understands this information may cause concern for people who planned on receiving the vaccination this year.
Luke Renfroe, who was raised in Galesburg, was hired by the Macomb Police Department after he served as a member of the McDonough County Sheriff's Reserve Police in 2002 and was a paramedic at McDonough District Hospital in 2000.
