James "Jim" McLaughlin (born in Connecticut in 1861 - death udate not yet located) was an American thoroughbred race horse jockey.
McLaughlin's six Belmont wins still stands as the most for any jockey and is shared with Eddie Arcaro who won his sixth in 1955.
In 1955, Jim McLaughlin was posthumously inducted in the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame.

McLaughlin earned numerous advanced degrees: he received a licentiate in Sacred Theology from the University of St. Mary of the Lake in 1966, a master of arts from Northwestern University in 1971, and a second master of arts from Loyola University in 1987.
McLaughlin is survived by two of his brothers, John McLaughlin and Rev. Edward J. McLaughlin, pastor emeritus of St. Michael Parish in Orland Park, and several nieces and nephews.

Pablo McLaughlin, M/24, of the 3000 block of Carman Street in Camden, and Eduardo McLaughlin, M/19 of the unit block of Church Street, Camden, arraigned today by Judge Linda G. Baxter, Presiding Criminal Division Judge of the state Superior Court in Camden.
The arrest warrants allege that the McLaughlins conspired with others to rob the victim of cash and that Huynh, of the 3700 block of Federal Street in Pennsauken, died during the course of the robbery.
It is further alleged that the McLaughlins helped place the victim's body in a vehicle, transport the body to the location where it was found and assisted in dumping it.
