But Blaustein's searching documentary on the sport, "Beyond the Mat," has come under fire from McMahon and his powerful franchise, culminating in a cease-and-desist letter aimed at disrupting the movie's advertising campaign.
McMahon is a charismatic on-camera presence in the movie; at one point he even wanted to invest in it.
McMahon didn't merely cooperate with Blaustein, he offered to triple his budget.

Amazon.com: The Monday Night War - WWE Raw vs. WCW Nitro (2004): DVD
For the most part, the documentary portrays the WCW and its president, Eric Bischoff, as being a bunch of irascible tyrants who cynically delcare a war of survival on McMahon's WWF.
As was to be expected of the WWE, the documentary does not interview many of the key WCW superstars who were at the center of the conflict such as Hogan, Nash, and Hall.
In one corner there's Vince McMahon, who takes his Monday night programming to new and subtle heights.

But it appears both sides were willing to bury the hatchet for Wrestlemania, as it gives McMahon star power to sell his pay-per-view show and Hogan a springboard to showcase the singing career of daughter Brooke while he's being inducted into WWE's Hall of Fame.
The video was produced by Paul Hough, whose last grappling-related project was an excellent documentary of backyard wrestling called The Backyard.
Levesque remains a WWE stalwart as McMahon's son-in-law, while Joanie "Chyna" Laurer has left the wrestling business to pursue other entertainment-related ventures.

 Montreal Screwjob - Wikpedia
He stood dazed in the ring as Michaels walked backstage to a cascade of garbage from fans, and he spat at McMahon, hitting him in the eye.
The incident was featured in the 1998 film, "Wrestling with Shadows", a documentary about Bret Hart's life as a WWF wrestler.
In the days to follow, Hart left for WCW, and McMahon claimed he could not trust Bret with the title, fearing he would show up on the competition's television show with the WWF World title belt.

It was always rumored that the reason behind his departure centered around his being asked to work with Nailz, but the documentary states that Hellwig actually failed a routine drug test, leading to his departure.
The documentary does a great job of convincing the viewer that Hellwig was responsible for the sour relationship between him and WWE.
One interesting segment that I particularly enjoyed is the few minutes spent talking about the Warrior's theme music by Vince McMahon, WWE's music man Jim Johnston and a few of the WWE superstars.

Amazon.com: Video: Hitman Hart: Wrestling with Shadows (1998)
You will see it all as the happy and appreciative Bret Hart from the first 20-30 minutes is slowly chipped away until a depressed and demoralized Bret Hart is left in the wake of what the WWF and Vince McMahon did to him.
I was really in awe as I watched "Hitman Hart: Wrestling with Shadows." A very interesting documentary about the dark side of wrestling and the lives it can make....or destroy.
This documentary, so beautifully done by director Paul Jay, gives you the dirt on what Hart's life was like back when wrestling was just starting to come into its more adult nature.

The DVD closes with Borash’s tribute to the late Chris Candido, who died before he could be interviewed for the documentary.
Especially a guy like Terry Funk, who turned down a much bigger payday to work McMahon’s ONE NIGHT STAND in favor of Borash’s HARDCORE HOMECOMING show.
As Borash himself says: “This era clearly defined and changed the lives of every person involved, from the champions to the fans.” Not too bad for a wrestling promotion that started out in a ring in front of 80 fans at former Phillies slugger Mike Schmidt’s sports bar in Philadelphia.

The WWF had wanted his wife at that match; they wanted to showcase him having a decent, regular wife and family, though they backed away from it the day before.
And Chyna is different, she isn't lumped together with the rest of the women wrestlers.

From what I understand, McMahon is a big fan of the Dean gimmick, which he came up with.
I was watching the Bret Hart documentary and had a few questions — did they just happen to be filming about Bret and hit “paydirt” when the screwjob took place?
I was wondering if referee Hebner has ever made any public comments about the Montreal screwjob.

LOPforums.com - mister e's manifesto #2:the art of the work--part 2: montreal screwjob shoot or work?
upon viewing of the title of this manifesto it may be impossible to believe that the montreal screwjob was anything but a total double-crossing shoot carried out by the dastardly vince mcmahon.
Also, I always thought that the documentary was shot to chronicle Bret's last days in the WWF, so it isn't too shocking that they would shoot at Survivor Series because that was going to be Bret's last PPV.
I don't think that the screwjob was a work because Bret would have returned to the WWE by now if it were.

 WWE: Trish Stratus - 100% Stratusfaction (2003) (V)
It begins from her childhood, goes to her years in the medical school and her early steps as a fitness model and traces her career in the WWE, from a teasing piece of TandA to a "comic relief" catfighter (with Stephanie McMahon) to a legitimate wrestler to an international superstar.
"Trish Revealed" is an entertaining, informative and well-paced hour-long documentary on Trish's life and career up to 2003.
And there are some things (like the "Much Music Awards" segment, with Trish and Chris Jericho opening up two bags full of presents) that are just a waste of time (as Jericho himself points out repeatedly in that one).

DVDFanatic Review: Monday Night War - WWE Raw vs. WCW Nitro
The Monday Night War is a documentary about the real life battle between WWE and the former WCW for wrestling supremacy.
- “Rick Rude appears on both RAW and Nitro on the same night”: Once again RAW being a taped show bites McMahon as the late Rick Rude left to show up on the live Nitro show to bash the RAW episode that was currently airing with him on it.
This was not the only tactic used in attempt to win the ratings war, Bischoff used the fact that his show was live and WWE Raw was taped (at the time, currently Raw is a live show) as an opening to give away the results of Raw three minutes before the show even aired.

WWE: The Monday Night War - Sports Film Reviews
WWE: The Monday Night War is a documentary (produced by World Wrestling Entertainment, the renamed WWF) that looks at the hard-fought rivalry between the two companies and offers plenty of classic footage of bouts from both outfits, including appearances by "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, Goldberg, Triple H, and The British Bulldog.
WWE: The Monday Night War : In the '80s, Vince McMahon brought the World Wrestling Federation from just another professional wrestling franchise to the biggest and most prestigious outfit in sports entertainment, and it would have been all but impossible for the WWF to rise to new heights without any competition.
Turner's boldest move came in 1995, when he programmed a Monday night wrestling extravaganza, WCW Monday Nitro, opposite the WWF's flagship broadcast, WWF Raw Is War.
