		McMinnville was incorporated as a town in 1876 and became a city in 1882.
		McMinnville is also known amongst UFO enthusiasts for photographs published on the front page of the June 9, 1950 edition of the city's newspaper, the News Register, reportedly of an unidentified flying object seen a month earlier.
		McMinnville is located 50 miles from the Pacific Ocean, 30 miles from Portland, Oregon, and 25 miles from the state capitol, centered at 45°12'42" North, 123°11'50" West (45.2118, -123.1973).
