  The Laboratorium: Dave and Timothy
The graphic design of McSweeney's is striking: the magazine is printed in Iceland (needing to be shipped across the Atlantic by slow freigher does little to help with the irregular publication schedule) and looks it: featuring clean and spare lines, with faintly archaic typefaces and small doodle-like line drawings by Eggers.
McSweeneys.org replied with a brief note from the McSweeneys Catchpole ("M.C."), stating "We have never claimed to be Dave Eggers" in a brief note whose writing style was a dead-on impersonation of Eggers' style.
And oh, yeah, somewhere in there while everyone was distracted by the.net-.org catfight, Gerry McSweeney (and his son Brandon, the family webmaster) converted the.com isotope to (roughly) the same look and with the same top-level content (albeit without the daily updates).

 The McSweeney's Store
McSweeney's has always been interested in the uncanny; publishing things which otherwise slip through the cracks because the cracks are usually manned by people who think the dollar is mightier than the pen.
For instance, McSweeney's ran an article about taking the properties of spider silk and applying them to building materials, but not without first sending the genes through BELE goats (miniature goats) found in Madagascar.
Of course, a lot of the books and journals McSweeney's publishes account for the items sold at the store, but they also served, at least for a time, as a pool of authors for the store's frequent readings.

McSweeney's Internet Tendency, the online home for the quirky zine McSweeney's (itself published by the author Dave Eggers), has been operating online on a shoestring (read: nonexistent) budget for over a year.
Upon hearing the tale of the impending demise of McSweeneys.net, however, the McSweeney family offered their help: Beginning April 3, McSweeneys.net will officially become a joint venture between the zine and the "Massachusetts McSweeneys," with the family maintaining the Web site and its finances for the impoverished (and accounting-challenged) zine editors.
Mother Wendy McSweeney (who, incidentally, has yet to subscribe to the print zine or read Eggers' recent memoir), is modest about the offer.

McSweeney's - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
McSweeney's is a publishing house founded by editor Dave Eggers, author of You Shall Know Our Velocity and A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius.
Apart from a growing stable of books, McSweeney's is responsible for four regular publications: the semi-quarterly literary journal Timothy McSweeney's Quarterly Concern, the daily-updated literature and humor site McSweeney's Internet Tendency, the monthly journal The Believer, and the new quarterly DVD magazine, Wholphin.
McSweeney's has helped launch the careers of many young writers, but it has also published the works of well established authors such as Michael Chabon, Stephen King, and Joyce Carol Oates.

The strange new issue of McSweeney's. - By Ruth Franklin - Slate Magazine   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-13)
McSweeney's, the idiosyncratic literary journal run by Dave Eggers, has lately grown predictable in its unpredictability, but the new issue is a true departure.
When Timothy McSweeney's Quarterly Concern (as the magazine was formally known) made its debut nearly five years ago, it consciously positioned itself in opposition to the mainstream glossies.
The McSweeney's story may share certain things with the sub-genre Chabon identified as "the New Yorker short story"—it's contemporary, it's often quotidian, it's certainly plotless—but it substitutes nihilism for epiphany.

McSweeney's, otherwise known as Timothy McSweeney's Internet Tendency, is the brainchild of best-selling author Dave Eggers and the online offspring of Timothy McSweeney's Quarterly Concern, a literary journal.
Eggers's claim that McSweeney's needed financial help to stay online was dubious, especially since Eggers himself told the Voice last year that he personally updates the site and that "it takes a half hour a day." And on the Internet, the stamp of authenticity is yet harder to confirm.
The McSweeney's Representative readily admitted the collaboration with the family was not done for the sake of money alone, despite their earlier pronouncements.
