	Random background subtraction
		accidentals, the number of random events above and below 150 MeV was measured, and the total number of random backgrounds remaining in the final signal was estimated from the number of events remaining above 150 MeV, which as a first approximation, were assumed to be solely due to the random background.
		As seen from Table 6.4, estimates obtained from 170 MeV and upward, the total random two-photon background was constant, and was found to be 100 events or 15.7% of the raw signal events.
		Starting at 170 MeV, contributions from the detector's energy resolution tail become negligible and the total number of random background events are found.

		A shower propagated to 1 MeV ignores the physical processes that occur with photons, electrons and positrons below this energy.
		Electrons and positrons lose their remaining energy through ionization in the steel, and have a small range dictated by their energy upon entering the steel, which we will assume is 1 MeV for randomly placed electrons in steel.
		1 MeV Electrons and positrons placed randomly in a slab steel of a given width have a probability (P(1 MeV)) of escaping the steel and creating a hit in the gas, which is dependent on the width of the steel.

		The fluxes in these bands indicate a curved time-averaged MeV spectrum, which has to change from a soft shape at high energies to a harder one at lower energies with an emission maximum somewhere between 3 and 10 MeV.
		This MeV spectrum, which will be the best resolved one of any AGN yet, will be presented, and its implications on the emission processes of \gamma-ray radiation in 3C~273 in particular and blazars in general will be discussed.
