The Mills Corp. still expects to break ground on its Meadowlands Xanadu project by the end of the year, the company said, despite a lawsuit filed by a competing finalist in the bid to redevelop the Meadowlands Sports Complex in New Jersey.
Ground will be broken on Meadowlands Xanadu before the end of the year, said George Zoffinger, president and CEO of the Sports and Exposition Authority.

Hartz, an unsuccessful bidder for the Meadowlands project, says its opposition stems from concern that the type of development planned at Xanadu is not in the best interests of the Meadowlands region.

The 26-screen, 6,500-seat Muvico Xanadu planned for the Mills Corp.'s Meadowlands Xanadu development project in Secaucus, N.J., will feature a giant 60-foot outdoor screen on a rooftop terrace.

 NJ Transit revising train plan for Bergen [Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers]
